IMPORT A JOB FILE

In this video, you’ll learn how to import a complete job file into Leica iCON Field and load all the data needed for layout and measurement.

File Types Needed:

Linework: DXF, DWG

Control Point: CSV (XYZ or PENZD)

Layout Points: CSV (XYZ or PENZD)

Surface: TTM

Having Issues Loading in Job files?

If your files import at the wrong scale, either extremely large or extremely small, you likely selected the wrong units during import.
Double-check that the units (feet, meters, inches) match the files you received before completing the import.

HOW TO DO A SETUP / RESECTION

In this video, you’ll learn how to perform a resection in Leica iCON, using two or more known control points to establish your total station’s position and orientation.

Bad Tolerances? 

If your resection isn’t meeting tolerance, check the following:

  • Triangulation: Make sure your control points form a good triangle around the instrument. Avoid points that are too close together or in a straight line.
  • Leveling: Confirm the total station is perfectly level. Even a small amount out of level can cause large resection errors.
  • Prism Setup: Ensure your prism height is correct and the pole is plumb.
  • Control Quality: Verify the control points you’re using are accurate and not disturbed.
